Broadway Boot-Camp

Broadway Boot-Camp

Campers will learn what it takes thrive in the world of performing arts.  Developing attention, focus, teamwork, and listening skills will be our mission, all while having fun during The Village Theater’s new Broadway Boot-camp.  We’ll devote time to improve, acting, voice, and movement.  This day camp is an all-day boot-camp built for the working parent in mind.  Camp for kids 5–10 years of age can be dropped off as early as 7:00 a.m. and picked up as late as 6:00 p.m. Register online here or call the Village Theater for more information at 734/394-5484.

Village Theater Ushers Wanted

The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is seeking new volunteer ushers for the 2018-19 theater season! If you have ever wanted to work at a Performing Arts Center, or have a passion for the Arts, now is your chance to get involved in your community.

Mandatory training for new ushers:
  • Tuesday, July 17 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 18 at 9:00 a.m.

Training for returning ushers

  • Saturday, July 21 at 9 a.m.
  • Tuesday, August 14 at 6 p.m.

All volunteers must be 18 years or age or older.

July 2018 Gallery @VT featuring "Impressionism, Sculpture/Paint" by Artist Dario Pabon

Exhibition Dates:  June 30 - July 30, 2018

Artist Bio: Dario Pabon is a retired Design Engineer and made his academic art studies in Medellin Columbia S.A. and Los Angeles Art Center College CA. Pabon has dedicated himself with more emphasis to a high transparency of sub-realistic and impressionism Art combined. 

Mr. Pabon's reflections are the relationship of materials and imagination to his Art creations. Utilizing a new technique, Pabon uses a Modeling Paste and Acrylics mixture to create a high embossed texture with (3D) third dimension effects—a technique called Sculpture-Painting.

Oldest Living Confederate Window: Her Confession

This is a story of Lucy Marsden, who is the widow of the last surviving soldier of the Civil War. This is her story of the Civil War, family, and the South. For the last thirty years of her life, Lucy prompted her famous husband to tell his battle stories for visitors. But the play is also about the civil war on the domestic front in her own home. Lucy and Will fight the eternal male-female battle, which begins on their wedding night. Audiences will laugh, cry and be horrified as Lucy’s stories transport them to another time and another way of life. Rated PG.  Tickets: $16-$18

Distinguished Young Women of MI Scholarship Program

Contestants from around the state of Michigan will compete for thousands of dollars in college scholarships and the Distinguished Young Woman of Michigan 2019 will be selected. Contestants will be performing an upbeat opening number, a physical fitness routine and individual talent presentations. The scholarship program is based on academic scholastics, leadership, physical fitness and talent and is open to high school junior young women from around the state of Michigan.
