You're Invited to Apply For the 2019 Exhibition Season!

The Gallery@VT would like to invite you to apply for a group or solo art exhibition for the 2019 season. We are interested in presenting a diverse group of artists of all mediums.

Your submission will be juried by our exhibition committee comprised of local artists, arts professionals and art educators. Please be advised that you are ineligible if you have had a Solo Exhibition at The Gallery@VT within the last 5 years.

Submissions are due by April 12, 2018.

Detroit Dance Race

ArtLab J was founded in 2012 to provide a space for performing artists to create and develop new works in Detroit. So, to give these emerging and professional choreographers an opportunity and location to present their work, the Detroit Dance Race was created. It was named the Detroit Dance Race because like the motor-city, the producers dance to be continuously growing, changing, and building up our community. Rated PG-13. Approximate run time: 2 hours. Tickets: $10-$15.

Better Than Ever Productions

Enjoy this comedy about three widows who meet monthly for tea before going to visit their husbands’ graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life; Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun; and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. Sam and Ida hit it off, but Doris and Lucille’s meddling causes hilarious confusion and guilt. Rated G. Approximate run time: 2 hours. Biltmore Studio. Tickets: $16-$18.

Featuring Souad Massi, the most popular female songwriter in the Arabic-speaking world and two-time Juno Winner (the most prestigious music award in Canada), Kiran Ahluwalia. All ages must have a ticket including children being held. Rated G. Approximate run time: 2 hours. Tickets: $28.

Polish National Alliance Centennial Dancers

Polish National Alliance Centennial Dancers

Celebrate the arrival of spring with an afternoon of traditional Polish song and dance. Marvel at the colorful costumes and intricate dance steps as the PNA Centennial Dancers showcase the beauty of Poland’s regions, including the ‘polskie kwiaty’ or Polish flowers. Based in Livonia, MI, PNA Centennial Dancers is a children’s Polish folkdance ensemble serving the Polish-American communities in Wayne, Oakland and Livingston counties. Formed in 1980 by the Polish National Alliance (PNA) Lodge 53, formerly PNA Lodge 3240, the dance ensemble has been educating students, ages 3-18, and sharing Polish heritage and culture through music and dance for over three decades. Approximate run time: 2 hours. Tickets: $12.

Annie is a fiery young orphan girl who must live in a miserable orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. Her seemingly hopeless situation changes dramatically when she is selected to spend a short time at the residence of the wealthy munitions industrialist, Oliver Warbucks. Quickly, she charms the hearts of the household staff and even the seemingly cold-hearted Warbucks cannot help but learn to love this wonderful girl. He decides to help Annie find her long lost parents by offering a reward if they would come to him and prove their identity. However, Miss Hannigan, her evil brother, Rooster, and a female accomplice, plan to impersonate those people to get the reward for themselves which put Annie in great danger. Among others, here are a few songs audiences will enjoy: ‘Hard Knock Life’, ‘Tomorrow’, ‘Easy St.’ and ‘I Don’t Need Anything But You’. Rated G. Approximate run time: 3 hrs.  Tickets: $16-$18
