[ARCHIVED] Weather Decision Regarding 2016 Olympian Celebration-Event to be held at Heritage Park

Despite expected early-afternoon showers, tonight's 2016 Olympian Hometown Celebration will be held as scheduled in Heritage Park at 7 p.m., This outdoor event will only be cancelled onsite in the event of severe weather or lighting. For additional information, please visit or call 734/394-5460.

To recap the event: Canton community rally in honor of our hometown 2016 Summer Olympians will be held on tonight (Thursday, August 25) at 7:00 p.m. at the Heritage Park Amphitheater, located next to the Summit on the Park, at 46000 Summit Parkway, Canton, MI 48188. Come and congratulate Allison Schmitt (U.S. Swimming Team), Jeff Porter (U.S. Track & Field) and Tiffany Porter (Great Britain Track & Field) who will be making a special appearance during this free Canton community event. Well-wishers are invited to show their support of these world-class athletes. Hosted by Kimberly Gill, WDIV News Anchor & WJR's Paul W. Smith, this Canton community celebration will feature a special presentation by Canton Supervisor Phil LaJoy. Rally participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for outdoor seating.
