[ARCHIVED] Pheasant Run Golf Club Offers Course Safety Reminders

For safety reason, Pheasant Run Golf Club does not allow pedestrian traffic on the course. Jogging or recreational walking is not permitted on the golf course. Cart paths are reserved for use by golf carts and maintenance equipment only. Bicycles, motor bikes, roller skates, roller blades, scooters, skateboards, strollers and all other non-golf vehicles are strictly prohibited from the course and the cart paths at all times.

With golf balls traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour, individuals running or walking on the course could potentially be exposed to danger. Also due to safety issues, fishing on golf course ponds is not allowed. In addition, pets are not allowed on the golf course.

Walkers and runners are encouraged to utilize the Lower Rouge Trail and the I-275 Metro Bikeway as outdoor recreational destinations. The Lower Rouge Trail offers over four miles of compacted crushed stone paths that meander along the Lower Rouge River providing access to scenic foliage and abundant wildlife. Parking for this trail system can be found at the Lower Rouge Trailhead, located on Michigan Avenue at Morton Taylor Road.

The I-275 Metro Trail currently links Wayne, Oakland and Monroe counties along a 40-mile paved route that runs parallel to Interstate 275. The path begins in Northville at Meadowbrook Road, just south of I-696, and heads south, following I-275, to Canton at Michigan Avenue near US 12. Access to the I-275 Metro Trail is available in numerous places along its route, including 8 Mile Road, Ann Arbor Road, Palmer Road and Michigan Avenue.

Located at 46500 Summit Parkway in Canton, MI, Pheasant Run Golf Course was designed by world renowned architect Arthur Hills. The 27-hole layout covers more than 300 acres of rolling terrain, and traverses over 10.5 miles from start to finish. The scenic course is inviting to the beginner and challenging to the scratch golfer.
