[ARCHIVED] Canton Club 55+ To Host Third Annual Canton Senior Games

 Area seniors are invited to enter the Second Annual Canton Senior Games, which are scheduled to take place August 20-24, 2018, at various locations in the Canton community. A variety of fun and challenging activities for men and women age 55 and older will be available during these four days of competition. 

Canton Club 55+ will offer a variety of events in which seniors may compete in for a nominal fee for a chance to win in their age categories: 55-64; 65-74; and 75 and older.

“Every year Canton’s Senior Games continue to get more popular,” said Adult Services Specialist Stephanie Diago. “This type of event is a testament to the many benefits of seniors maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle, and we are thrilled to bring them back.”

This year’s events include: Sports Tournaments (Golf, Pickleball Doubles, Tennis Doubles, Billiards); Cards/Wii Games (Euchre, Pinochle, Mahjong, Wii Bowling, Trivia); Field Games (Bean Bag Toss, Bocce Ball Toss, Ring Toss, Softball Throw, Football Toss, Basketball Shot, Lawn Darts). New this year, an Art Contest has also been added for seniors to compete against each other. Individuals looking to compete in team sports may register as an individual and will be placed on a team.

Competitions will take place throughout Canton at: Pheasant Run Golf Club, Summit on the Park, Heritage Park, Freedom Park and Griffin Park.

Registration is now available online at or in person at the Canton Club 55+ front desk, located in the Summit on the Park at 46000 Summit Parkway in Canton, MI.  All participants must register by Friday, August 10, 2018. Registration fees are as follows:

Field Games/Cards/Wii Games/Billiards fees for each event are $2 for Canton residents and $3 for non-residents

Billiards Tournament, Pickleball Tournament, and Tennis Tournament fees are $5 for Canton residents and $6 for non-residents

Golf Tournament fees are $53 for Canton residents and $58 for non-residents.

An awards ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, August 24, 2018, from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at the Summit on the Park Maple/Oak Room, located at 46000 Summit Parkway.  Participants can take part in a BBQ lunch for just $8 for Canton residents and $10 for non-residents.
